dell are making the latitude xt with mutitouch and stylus support (built by n-trig and notable because both actions are governed by the same hardware rather than 2 competing systems as seen on previous touch/stylus tablets)
it sucks that apple hasn't done anything for it's traditional design audience - i can't believe that i'm actually thinking about going over to pc so that i can do what i want with my hardware rather than waiting for apple to deign to look in my direction

I find it hilarious that Steve Jobs claimed Apple was not tracking users, but now all of a sudden we find Location tracking being completely removed from this version of iOS, that is honestly something that annoyes me..

How much plainer does it need to be, their whole intent is to enable people to steal the GUI and enjoy the Apple OS X experience for free.
How do you figure? There are people like me that hate Intel's products but love Apple's. So I really don't want to buy an Intel Mac. I would much rather build an AMD rig and buy OSX and install on that. I have bought all OS X releases since 10.2 and would proudly buy 10.5 and run on non-Apple hardware.

Getting back to the actual advertisement. What self-respecting advertising professional would use someone else's tagline like that.
I had a few friends watching the football game (where we saw the ad) and half of them thought it was an iphone commercial because they were only half paying attention and heard "there's a map for that".
Pretty shoddy work in my opinion.
Seems like it worked. Got a lot of people talking about it, razzing on AT&T and saying good for them (Verizon). On an Apple forum no less. Mission accomplished.

Nope, nothing new there. They expanded maybe, but they did not create.
I'm not talking about the lower levels of computing. I'm talking about the parts of computing that End Users, who will never see an IDE in their entire lives. This is where computing is being redefined. They're shifting the way people use the "input. Process. Output.Store".
Again for the people wanting very much to redefine computing, "shifting the way people use" is not redefining computing. At least qualify it properly as a shift in usability, not in computing. You are talking about the lower levels when you use the word computing.

Is it because a shift in usability doesn't sound as great accomplishment and you want to make what Apple did much bigger than it really is ? The firmware would have to be written to work with the net hardware, but AMD chips are i86 compatible processors with the same 64 bit extensions that Intel use (Intel had to suck it up and use the same 64 bit extensions as AMD when the universe + dog rejected their take on 64-bit processing).

OK if anyone wants to make up for the spoiler incidents, I would appreciate someone pointing out a application that allows you to save quicktime and other forms of media by downloading it to our computers (aside from the obvious purchase to a quicktime pro). For example downloadhelper is normally great at this, but it is not kicking in for me in this situation. :confused:

Its Music. Music now a days contains some curse words. There were no 5 year olds in that audience. 5 year olds are not going to watch a keynote. i have to agree with killuminati here (without even being a rap person).. your theory that because he uses the n word (which by the way can still be seen as a proactive measure to take racist words away from non blacks) is contradictory to being religious/spiritual is absurd. same goes for cursing in general. did you ever think that perhaps the n word isn't seen as curse amongst many blacks? we're not talking about white people calling black people n's here, it's a big difference.

Hello everybody :),
I'm the autor of these pictures. I've made this with 3dsmax and Vray render. Photoshop has been just use to create the noise and resize the pictures.
For the perspective problem on the third pics, it's just a lens distortion of my camera.
Stop search, it's just a 3D render exercise.
I'm happy to see that my work unleashed passions but it's A FAKE.

nope not free. I happen to have a Pipeline subscription since I cancelled my cable tv in anticipation of AppleTV: subscribe to the shows I watch and use Pipeline for my live news tv needs.

For my work I need word and office, so replacements are not feasible. We use custom plug-ins that obviously will only work in an office app and nothing else.
I'm a little behind the curve as I'm running MS office 2007 on my windows partition and I've had little need to upgrade to 2010. That's why I'm a little out of the loop regarding ads in office.

Hmm, I have a machine with 3 cards and one of them runs at 90c while the others run at 70+. the other machine with 3 cards all run at 70c
at least that is runable. my system will crash once the one card gets to 104-105C

Well, if Apple's going to do it this year, it will most likely be before the end of October. Much later than that and they'll miss a chunk of the holiday shopping season. Wanna grab people before they've ordered their Wiis and PS3s.
